The natural park at Sunset Cliffs boasts natural coastal bluffs that appear to be sculpted from the earth. The vantage points from the cliffs allow visitors to see the many surfing havens below. This area is home to trails that run across the cliffs. The beautiful views from the bluffs are a favorite wedding venue due to the picture-perfect backdrop and panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean.

The total area of the natural park at Sunset Cliffs is sixty-eight acres. There is a smaller linear stretch of the park, around eighteen acres, that runs along the coast, and a larger fifty acres that take up the hillside. The latter is primarily a natural conservation for various wildlife species. The natural park is not included in the Point Loma Ecological Reserve but is connected to it. The ecological reserve at Point Loma is much larger, at around six hundred and forty acres.

The distinct features of the park include the bluffs, arches and sea caves. There are some stunningly beautiful panoramic views of the ocean. These are not only picturesque, but they also serve as a romantic backdrop for weddings and special events. Weddings that take place in the park are restricted to no more than 50 people to protect the conservation areas, and avoid the public park and recreational areas from larger gatherings. Be at the park before sunset or have a spare hour to watch gray whales. Go to Luscomb Point, also known as Happy Luscomb, which offers fantastic views of the sunset.
